At the New Designers Fair this week in Angel, SilkFred set out to scout the next big name in fashion. With rows and rows of endless talent and ideas we couldn’t help but be excited. 

One designer that caught our imagination was Laura Chestney. Her mint and orange perspex accessories collection was modern and oh so cool. The mixture of leather and plastic textures played beautifully against each other.

Her inspiration came from aviation and the visual aspects of old aeroplanes, which is where the idea of using studs came into play. The bright pop or orange originated from the flash of an aircraft and the decorative aspect derived from modern aircraft features. 

What drew us to her brand and the opportunity for her to become part of the SilkFred collective was her point of view, and balanced mixture of wearability and high fashion. Team with a black dress and platforms to let your accessory speak a thousand words.
